Blackberry Season.

Fruit inspired colors, actually made with fruit! I loved this sign outside of Anthropologie in Westport, and thought I would give it a try. My experience is that fruit dyes aren't very lasting, and they brown with time, but just the scent of the berries was too enticing. The fabric had been pre dipped and dried with pomegranate (actually a brown/khaki color) and then haphazardly tied with string and dipped in blackberry stew. The result was delicious.
4 quarts water
4 pints blackberries
1 TBS vinegar
simmer for 4-5 hours
