Sweet inspiration.
Birthday donuts from the Donut Plant near The Chelsea Hotel were a sweet surprise from my artist friend, Sheila Berger. They certainly flavored my next lot of oversized scarves. Also inspiring were the beautiful paintings, sculptures and mobiles floating in her studio. Quebracho and cochineal were the perfect ingredients for theses stylish confections.

Can you dig it?
Spring Dig at Terrain was sprouting with color and creativity. New Vagabond's Daughter animal print like scarves on the prowl!
First came the egg.
After a long, cold and very white winter I have finally started to hatch some new ideas. Creativity was hard to come by during these bleak months- where had mine gone? Inspiration was hard to find. I finally took my husbands advice and just "took a break". It did take more time than expected for me to come out of hibernation, but a workshop at Terrain
was just what the witch doctor ordered. And so, it started with the eggs. Latvian Easter egg dyeing with onion skins. Thank you to all who participated, especially to Nancy Moon who took all but the bottom photograph, and Marina gets credit for that one!

Lady Ledbetter Dip 'n' Sip.
This bride doesn't have the pre wedding 'blues"! Radiant and super stylish bride to be, Megan, got in up to her elbows to make her wedding reception the best it could be. Putting her own twist on things, she decided to dip dye her napkins for the wedding reception. What a grand idea! The snow kept a few people away, but we managed just fine without them... Thank you to sister Lauren and Aunt Barbara for braving the elements (and I95)!
I am so honored to be a part of the prep.
Can't wait for the big day!

Vagabond spottings.
Trunk shows a plenty this month! Three last week. Thank you to all who helped clean out my inventory- now, back to work before the next crop. This Saturday I will be hosting a Dip 'n' Sip party in my studio for a lovely bride to be and her girlfriends. Also putting the finishing touches on the men's Spring 2014 collection for Onassis. Then, more trunk shows... good thing I have my share of trunks!

Getting ready for Beds.
I was approached by a bedding shop, The Clean Bedroom Store, to create a bedding line dyed with natural plant extracts. This seemed like a natural progression for Vagabond's Daughter, and they are naturally stunning. I wasn't able to produce in large quantities, but the result is one of a kind duvet covers made with organic linen from Near Sea Naturals, dyed with all natural plant extracts, and throw pillows in organic cotton and silk velvet. All inquiries about orders and wholesale prices should be sent to Vagabond's Daughter at <nancy.geaney@gmail.com>.
